Start/Finish
Venue : The Leggers Arms, Millstreet East (Explorer
288 GR249207).
Start Time : 10.00 a.m.
Registration : 8.30 a.m.
Aim : To walk any route of
20 miles or 15 miles or 10 miles. (32k, 24k, or 16k)
Equipment : You are advised to carry
waterproofs, warm clothing and suitable footwear - this is a winter walk!
Bring a map and compass and torch.
Refreshments : Hot drinks at start; drinks
and snacks at checkpoints; hot food and drinks at finish at reasonable cost.
Retirements : Those participants who
retire from the event must do so at a checkpoint. Marshals have the right to
withdraw participants if their fitness is in doubt or if they are behind
schedule.
A Certificate & Badge : These will be issued to all who
complete their walk. (including IVV stamp)
Runners and dogs (with owners) are welcome.
Children under 16 accompanied by an adult and partners of LDWA members are
welcome and entry is free.
Location of Hall
: Leave M62 at Junction 28 and travel on A653 to
centre of Dewsbury.
Leave M1 at Junction 40 and travel on A638 to centre of Dewsbury.
This event does not fall within the scope of the AALR.
A full route description will be given on the day of the walk. The routes will be way marked for ease of navigation. This walk is the first of the Irregulars Quadrathon. Completion of all four of the annual Irregular walks will enable participants to purchase a superb commemorative badge. The events are the NEW HANGOVER (January), THE MAGICAL MYSTERY KANTER (August), THE BLACK BROOK (October) and the REGULAR IRREGULAR (December)

I have sufficient knowledge, experience, equipment and navigational skills to take part in a long-distance challenge walk in all conditions. I confirm that I am in good health and have no medical condition that may cause undue concern or inconvenience to others.
